Who Are We?

Father's Day Beach Walk Church Website Banner
Third Avenue Church is a family.  We care for one another, love one another, pray for one another and live life with one another.
Our church is not a building.  We are not four walls and a roof.  We will go wherever Christ calls us and do whatever he calls us to do.
Our church is a movement.  We feel that God is wanting to transform us and use us to transform those we encounter.
Our church is not a country club.  We aren’t here to have our needs met, rather we are here to serve as Christ has served us.
Our church is a place of worship.  We are laser focused on Christ and His Glory.  We live for nothing else.
Our church is a house of prayer.  We believe that Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
Our church is a city on a hill.  We know that God has us where he has us to advance the Gospel through us.
Our church is fully dependent on Christ in all things.
Our church is reaching out for all people.
…and we are being changed always.

When we ponder the Holiness of God, the unsearchable Greatness of who he is and what he can do, we should be awestruck.

If we don't adequately live in relationship with others in community, we are in danger of seeing many die without Christ.

Rise Up & Build 7: Revive Us Again
Revival happens when we are more desperate for God's word than we are any other word, when we are more desperate for God's presence than we are for any other presence.

Rise Up & Build 6: We Can Not Come Down
What a great work we've been called to; To rebuild the spiritual walls of our own lives. To rebuild the spiritual walls of our community. And to rebuild the spiritual walls of our church. There will be outside opposition against us and against our faith... We can not come down.

Rise Up & Build 5: Oppression of Rights
When we claim our own rights we hinder revival.  You have no rights except the gift of God's grace through Jesus Christ.

Rise Up & Build 4: Sword and Shovel
We are called to Fight!  We fight against the spiritual forces of darkness... not people.  We fight this fight with the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and Prayer.   We are also called to Build.  We build God's kingdom in obedience with faith.  We build with the Shovel of the Spirit which is the Power of God.  And our Battle Cry is "REMEMBER YOUR GREAT AND AWESOME GOD."

Rise Up & Build 3: Naysayers and Rebuilders
Every time there is a move of God, there will be opposition to the working of his people.  You can either be a naysayer or you can be a rebuilder.  I pray you will stand in obedience to the call of God regardless of the excuses, the grumbling, or complaining that is against you.

When we are rebuilding we must be broken.  Brokenness allows us to be put into the hand of God so that we can be used by him for his glory.

Where Can I Serve?

Make a Difference Ministry Web Banner

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.

Mission Outreach

Third Ave. church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We support local missions and world missions.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministries. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. This ministry is under the direction of Mr. Donnie Davis

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
Teaching and Mentoring
We are always looking for people who want to share their love of our Lord with others. If you are interested in teaching or assisting with a class or activity please let us know.  We have a place for you.

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.
